TSA Sets Sail at F.L.C
by Terry Blevins

Last week Dade County High School’s local TSA chapter attended their annual weekend-long Fall Leadership Conference, held at the Sea Palms resort on St. Simons Island. Every year, chapters from all over Georgia congregate to share ideas, gain knowledge, hone existing skills, and most of all, have fun. There were a multitude of leadership and technical sessions that students could choose to attend. Some of the sessions our members attended were: Electronic Problem Solving, which had members create simple circuits to achieve certain goals, Paper Airplanes, which made attendees think outside of the box about the orders that they must follow and Graphic Design, which had a former TSA member describe how to incorporate basic principles of art in a graphic to make an all together more cohesive design. Our chapter also participated in the Armada boat race, in which chapters formed a team of three and raced boats made out of cardboard. Our chapter’s giant raft design was not our first choice, but it traversed more than halfway across the course. We did not end up winning, but we had fun designing and building the boat; and that’s what really matters. Sunday morning we were scheduled to return to Dade County, so we stopped by the beach for a little bit of sun and surf. This certainly helped alleviate the fact that we were about to spend seven hours on a bus. All in all, we learned a lot, had tons of fun, enjoyed the beach and were ready to get home.

Welcome to DCHS TSA's website!

On behalf of the entire TSA officer team, I wish you all a pleasant visit to our site and hope you find everything you need.
